Misplacing Eternity

...And so I ask, has anyone ever seen eterninty? What makes people so certain that it exists? Is there actually time outside of our own concepts? Perhaps it is only us that experience time. When you think about it, does it really make sense that time can go on forever? What happens when there is no life to document it?

Wouldn't it be equally as likely that time doesn't exist at all, and that what we know as existence is merely a fluke? And if that were the case, would it not seem that when the error is discovered we may be stripped of our brief existence completely?

But then who's to say that we even exist now? There is the possibility that we are fictional characters in a short story...
